A woman name Margaret came up to me at a function looking for conversation. “Why didn’t anyone spend some time to tell me how my life or appearance will change with age?” she said. I hurt, my hair is thinning, my energy level is way down, I look older than I want to. This seems like it happened so fast she said. Wow! I never thought of that. Isn’t it amazing how we assume the inevitable? I only state it that way because many folks want to just watch it happen versus saying and practicing the, “SLOW DOWN” method.
What the heck is going on?
Getting our bodies to slow down the aging process. You know, you can control much more than you think. Fact is that once you hit 40 years of age, and it doesn’t matter if you’re a man or a woman, your body starts aging FASTER than normal. If you do not take proper nutrients and exercise your, yes your body will age about 6 month EXTRA for every year that goes by. So for many when you hit 60 you may feel 70 years old and some will also look it. Now here is the really ugly part, you’ll also lose valuable muscle each year and this helps you burn fat. So not only are you losing muscle but gaining more fat every single year – even if your calorie intake stays the same. Smoking: Cigarette smoking – Inhaling sets off an immune response just like a blood vessel injury leading to inflammation. Sugars: Do you have teeth or gum disease? Could be an inflammatory disease called periodontal. Stop the sugar, soda ect.
Over 40 Alarm
When I reached 40 years of age I never felt that it was a big deal. I would work out, eat well and actually believed that all that I need was about 4 hours of sleep. Heavy work outs were breaking down my body and why was I getting ill on occasion? And yes even falling asleep driving. So now I’m 61 years young and my parents taught me to share – so I’m sharing with you so that you may suck up some information and share with someone else and be the healthy leader of your pack.
The Slow Down Method
Do you realize that you can look 45 even if your 60 years of age? Don’t be afraid of healthy fats and cholesterol. Be afraid of all of the low fat this and that. Just look at the folks that you pass every day that are not well, over weight and eating fast foods daily.
